In the second quarter of 2024, the theme park industry's digital presence continued to engage users worldwide. Sensor Tower provides a detailed look into how five major theme park apps performed on the unified platform, which includes both iOS and Android data.
Disneyland® Paris saw a steady revenue stream, maintaining around $4M weekly with a slight peak to $5M at the beginning of May and the first week of June. Downloads began at 273K in the first week of April but trended downward to 140K by the end of June. Weekly active users started strong at 452K but experienced a dip, stabilizing around 321K by the quarter's end.
LEGOLAND® Billund Resort, despite not generating revenue, had a consistent increase in downloads from 94K to 114K by the quarter's close. Weekly active users saw growth in late May, rising from 30K to 63K in June.
Heide Park Resort also did not report any revenue. Downloads showed a significant fluctuation with an initial 128K in April, dropping to negligible numbers, and then climbing back to 68K by June. Active users reflected a similar pattern, beginning at 153K, dropping mid-quarter, and rebounding to 167K.
Europa-Park & Rulantica had a modest presence with downloads starting at 36K, dipping to as low as 1K, and ending the quarter at 46K. Active users were minimal at the start and end of the quarter, but peaked at 55K in the last week of June.
Lastly, Port Aventura observed its downloads ranging from a low of 1K to a high of 26K. Weekly active users peaked at 38K in mid-June after a varied performance throughout the quarter.
